讓每一個孩子,
都看見光。

親愛的朋友:
小時候,父母不在身邊,在寄養家庭和親戚家之間輾轉長大。那段日子留下了很深的創傷,也讓人太早明白:一個孩子,可以有多孤單。
那時候,沒有人伸出手。正因為那段路從來沒有人照亮過,心裏一直有一個願望:有一天,要成為別人的光。
2016 年,開始自己舉辦義工活動,一直自掏腰包,一步一步把這個願望變成行動。
2018 年 9 月,超強颱風山竹襲港。那一天,在社交平台開了一個義工群組,呼籲大家一起清理社區。最後,超過 4,000 位素不相識的香港人回應:七十多歲的伯伯、斯斯文文的女孩、一家大小、中途加入的路人,拿起工具走到十八區。最難忘的是鴨洲 —— 島上只住着十多位長者,屋前的沙石堆到小腿那麼高,義工用了兩個星期,一鏟一鏟把他們的家挖回來。那一刻終於明白,香港從來不冷漠,愛心只是需要一個出口。「18同行」就這樣誕生。
後來走進劏房,看見很多像當年的自己一樣的孩子:有夢想、有天分,卻沒有機會,也沒有人在身邊。不想他們再一個人走。於是開辦免費課室,再推出全額助養計劃 —— 不是陪孩子一個下午,而是陪他們長大。很多時候,經費來自個人積蓄。很累,但每次看見孩子的眼睛亮起來,都覺得值得。
心裏一直有一個夢想:走到世界上最需要幫助的地方。2025 年春天,這個夢想終於成真。我們與合作夥伴一同踏足西非岡比亞,探訪學校和家庭,派發食物,協助建立 AI 學習中心,由第一次開機教起。後來,其中一位學生用學到的技能,賺到了人生第一份收入。那一刻更加相信:只要給孩子一個機會,無論在世界哪個角落,他們都可以改寫自己的將來。
讓他們感受到愛,看見希望。
接下來的目標:
- 在香港:讓更多基層孩子得到長期的全額助養,由小學一直陪伴到他們成才;讓每一部閒置的電腦,都成為一個孩子的學習工具。
- 在海外:把在岡比亞建立的教育模式帶到更多有需要的國家,讓 18同行成為一個真正的國際慈善機構。
- 在未來:有一天,今天受助的孩子會回來,成為下一個孩子的光。這才是「同行」真正的意思。
物質會消逝,但你對這個世界、對身邊人所做的溫暖改變,會永遠流傳。
這條路,一個人走不完。但相信生命影響生命。當年沒有人照亮那段路;今天,願意成為照亮孩子的那道光。

A letter from our founder
Dear friend,
I grew up away from my parents, moving between foster homes and relatives. Those years left deep wounds, and taught me far too early how lonely a child can be.
No one reached out to me then. Because no one ever lit that road for me, I have always carried one wish: one day, to be a light for someone else.
In 2016 I began organising volunteer activities of my own, paying for them myself, turning that wish into action one step at a time.
In September 2018, Super Typhoon Mangkhut struck Hong Kong. That day I started an online group to call for volunteers to clean up our neighbourhoods. More than 4,000 strangers answered — a man in his seventies, quiet young women, whole families, passers-by who joined halfway — and went out across all eighteen districts. I remember Ap Chau most: an island home to a dozen elderly villagers, with sand and stones piled up to our shins in front of their houses. It took two weeks, one shovel at a time, to dig their homes back out. I knew then that Hong Kong is not a cold city; its kindness just needs somewhere to go. That is how GreenFeet18 began.
Later I walked into subdivided flats and met children just like the child I had been: full of dreams and talent, with no chance to use them and no one by their side. I did not want them to walk alone. So we opened free classes, then our Full Sponsorship Programme — not to spend an afternoon with a child, but to walk beside them as they grow up. Much of the time, the funding came from my own savings. It is tiring, but every time a child's eyes light up, it is worth it.
I had always dreamed of going to the places in the world that need help most. In spring 2025 that dream came true. With a partner, we went to The Gambia in West Africa, visited schools and families, distributed food, and helped set up an AI learning centre, teaching from the very first power-on. One student has since used those skills to earn their first income. It made me believe even more: give a child one chance, and wherever in the world they are, they can rewrite their own future.
What comes next:
- In Hong Kong: long-term, full sponsorship for more children from low-income families, from primary school until they stand on their own — and every idle computer turned into a child's learning tool.
- Overseas: take the education model we built in The Gambia to more countries that need it, and grow GreenFeet18 into a truly international charity.
- In the future: one day, the children we support today will come back and be a light for the next child. That is what walking together really means.
Material things fade, but the warmth you bring to the world and to the people around you lives on for ever.
This road is too long to walk alone. But I believe one life can change another. No one lit the way for me back then; today, I want to be that light for children.
